The Coaching Process

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a one-on-one professional partnership between two equals- the client and the coach- that enables you to realize your life vision, clarify your deepest desires, and to create a plan of action for success. A coach fosters change by focusing on the client’s talents, gifts, values, and vision.

Coaching helps you move from where you are now to where you want to be in the future. It is a relationship with someone who accepts nothing but your best and who will advise you, guide you, and encourage you to go beyond self-imposed limitations in order to realize your full potential.

How Does Coaching Work?

There is an initial intake session that lasts about an hour and a half. This intake session includes a life-balance, a self-inquiry, and a readiness for change assessment. We look at your strengths, life experience and victories. You clarify what you want to achieve, your core values, passions, where you get stuck, and how you sabotage yourself.

From the initial intake information, we clarify and define your intentions and objectives and set clear, attainable goals, action steps and establish a system of accountability.

Together, we celebrate your victories, positive qualities, and achievements and look at what is working for you. We take ourselves lightly and have fun!

How is Coaching Different from Therapy?

Coaching is about working with the whole person, and weaving together the client’s concerns into an integrated plan that will help the client move forward. Coaching does not attempt to explain behaviors, focus on the past or identify pathology.

How Do I Meet with Clients?

Most of my clients, especially those who are located in other cities throughout the US, prefer to conduct sessions by telephone because it is convenient, and sessions can be scheduled into a very demanding day, or outside the work time. I do have a office available in Atlanta for clients who wish to meet in person.
